Somebody like to 'splain Update 1?
This update 1 requires the SCO Update Service (SUS) Enabler license.
Is this something you are supposed to have with 5.0.7? Is it
extra cost? Is update 1 necessary or simply extra features?

thing to see if it was installed, I figured it was an extra feature on the
base 5.0.7 that needed to be bought.
Is there anything in the price lists regarding it? I've not seen it.
What is this update thing anyway?

SCO Update is provided by its own license, for $$. If you have SCO
Update, you will get all the features added to 5.0.7 until it eventually
turns into 5.0.8.

It *must* be registered with SCO to enable it, at which time another
license is installed on your system to actually enable the service.
Update 1 is *not* necessary.
Update 1 is new features, mostly new shells and a new wd driver
that supports disks > 137GB. (The wd driver will also be available
from the SCO ftp site at no charge.)
See the 507up1 release notes for full details.

It converts your P4/Xeon into a Dual Processor - you do NOT need an
SMP licence for a SINGLE cpu. If you already have a dual P4/Xeon it
gives you a quad.
