Default SOS, Maday, can't recover file

I have an Illustrator CS file with 35 layers (approx. 76Mb) which has all of a sudden become 56K. I am getting an error message when I try opening it which reads:
"Can't open the illustration. The illustration
    contains an illegal operand.

    Offending operator 'p'.
    Context:

    %A13_EndEncoding AdobeType
    %%EndSetup
    1 A
    0 A
    0 O
    (Brick) 0 0 1 1 0 0 0 0 0 [4.0547 0 0 4.04 24372.5572 - 25815.8398] p

Unfortunately, I hadn'e worked on this file for a week or so, and the backup has the same problem. Can anyone save my life, please? Jeff

76MB to 56K I would guess it was gone.

Try to find an earlier archive. I feel your pain.
