Default special effects

I have created a logo in photoshop that now I want to create an effect that looks like a beam of light is spelling out the word of my logo. I also have Fireworks 2.0, and I wanted to know can I do this with this version of Fireworks or are there any other types of special effects I can do with Fireworks? I am basically looking for something to do some sort of aniamtion on my splash page.

Hi Roofy, I have some cool effects on my Freestyler page and a Special
Effect too which happens to be a ray of light. I don't know if it is
what you want but you might aswell take a look anyway. It's all free
content. If you can't find what you're looking for try the Links page
and see if some other resources have what you need.
I don't know if Fireworks 2 can use Styles but I think so. If not you
might want to download a Fireworks MX 2004 Trial version and import the
Styles in that version of Fireworks.

Here is the link to Freestyler:

http://wetworks.nl/freestyler

Go to Downloads from there.

And here to Fireworks MX 2004:

Good luck!

I think I misexplained myself. What I am looking for is doing animation of special effects. So meaning not only I want the ray of light, but I want the ray of light to animate. Here is an example not of ray of light but an example of what you can do with your splash page with Flash and thats what I am really looking for. I want my ray of light to do some sort of fancy animation effect to logo for my splash page.

Though I don't have flash, yet I have Director. I will be designing my web site in Director, though the problem is Director is not an image editing tool that you can create animated special effects. Most likely you will need some sort specical effect editing tool, like Photoshop, Flash, etc. I could do this in Photoshop/ImageReady but I was wondering if it is easier in Fireworks.

I don't get it. There is an image that says "Introduction to Nu-Lok",
that I can see. But in your previous post you mentioned that you want to
change the content from "About Us" to "Contact us". What content, what
page? What image needs to be altered?

You are obviously talking about two things here. What needs to be changed?

You have my help if you want but I need some better explanation of what
it is you exactly want done.

Default special effects

hello
i remember looking at the "what's new with director 7 " part of director 7
when i had it (before 8.5), and i remember an effect which made an image
look like it was effected by a heat wave (like it had a flame underneath
it), or similar, under the name of matte (i think). Does anyone know
anything about this effect and how to get it to work?

Thanxx
