spot Color setup
Definitely a novice question -- but its the first time I need to do this and the deadline is now.
How do you set up a bar chart (created in PhotoShop) that is beveled and rounded and needs to print in spot color for metallic ink? And *why* do CMYK imports of graphics look so bad in FH10? Any help --- step by step preferably --- is appreciated.

just save it as a TIFF, import into FH, and then apply the spot
colour of your choice. If you want just certain parts of a colour
image to print in metallic silver, it gets a lot more complicated --
and most of the work has to be done in Photoshop itself, creating an
additional spot-colour channel before exporting a DCS2 file for
placement in the FH layout.
When you say imported images "look so bad", do you mean on screen or
in printed output? If just the former, don't worry about it --
although you may find their appearance will improve somewhat if you
increase the resolution in your display preferences, you'll pay a
price in terms of slower screen redraw.

Thank you! I was given two techniques and yours worked brilliantly -- and so easily!
I appreciate it. Thanks again.
