    Default Spry Validation issue.

    I'm trying to use spry validation to have some informative text disappear from
    a text area when the user clicks on the text area. Attached is my code. What am
    I doing wrong?

    <script src="SpryAssets/SpryValidationTextarea.js"
    type="text/javascript"></script>
    <link href="SpryAssets/SpryValidationTextarea.css" rel="stylesheet"
    type="text/css" />
    </head>

    <body>
    <label></label>
    Name:
    <label>
    <input type="text" name="Name" id="Name" />
    </label>
    <p>Address:
    <label>
    <input name="Address" type="text" id="Address" />
    </label>
    </p>
    <p>City:
    <label>
    <input name="City" type="text" id="City" />
    </label>
    </p>
    <p>State:
    <label>
    <input name="State" type="text" id="State" />
    </label>
    </p>
    <p>ZIP Code:

    <input name="ZIP Code" type="text" id="ZIP Code" />
    </label>
    </p>
    <p>Phone #:
    <label>
    <input name="Phone #" type="text" id="Phone #" />
    </label>
    </p>
    <p>Email:
    <label>
    <input type="text" name="Email" id="Email" />
    </label>
    </p>
    <p>Description of Job:</p>
    <p><span id="sprytextarea1">
    <label>
    <textarea name="Job Description" id="Job Description" cols="45"
    rows="5">Please include as much information as possible, such as span, pitch,
    area and area of specialty trusses, in addition to any information you believe
    to be needed.</textarea>
    </label>
    <span class="textareaRequiredMsg">A value is required.</span></span></p>
    <p>
    <label>
    <input type="submit" name="button" id="button" value="Submit" />
    </label>
    </p>

    <script type="text/javascript">

    var sprytextarea1 = new Spry.Widget.ValidationTextarea("sprytextarea1",

    Change the textarea to be empty:

    <textarea name="JobDescription" id="JobDescription" cols="45" rows="5"></textarea>

    Then add a hint in the Spry:

    var sprytextarea1 = new Spry.Widget.ValidationTextarea("sprytextarea1", {validateOn:["blur"], hint:"Please include as much
    information as possible, such as span, pitch, area and area of specialty trusses, in addition to any information you believe to be
    needed."});

    The above needs to be on one line.

    There is style related error. Check the code.

    What do you mean by a style related error? I don't get any errors when I check
    the code. When I insert the code that Ken Ford gave me, I get an error. When I
    put the code in that Adobe has, I get nothing.

    It gives me an error that there are Javascript widgets that no longer exists, but there is code still there. I have the code for the text area widget, but it still gives me this error.

    Did you miss my two edits? I had the page up so that you could look at it, but took it down for the weekend so that customers could use the form without the spry text. I'll put it back up in a moment.

    Ah, I use the NNTP forums and do not see edits to posts.

    Just post a new reply and I will see that.

    The following files are not on the server:

    <script src="/SpryAssets/SpryValidationTextarea.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <link href="/SpryAssets/SpryValidationTextarea.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />

    Upload those files to the server.

    Then delete this:

    <span id="sprytextarea1">
    <label></label>
    <span class="textareaRequiredMsg"></span></span><script type="text/javascript">
    var textareawidget1 = new Spry.Widget.ValidationTextarea("textareawidget1", {hint:"Enter your address here"});

    </script>

    And change this:

    var sprytextarea2 = new Spry.Widget.ValidationTextarea("sprytextarea2", {validateOn:["blur"]});

    To this, keeping it all on one line:

    var sprytextarea2 = new Spry.Widget.ValidationTextarea("sprytextarea2", {validateOn:["blur"], hint:"Please include as much
    information as possible, such as span, pitch, area and area of specialty trusses, in addition to any information you believe to be
    needed."});
