    Default SQL Server 7.0 & Enterprise Manager

    I am a newbie to SQL Server and am embarking on a project to create a
    database.

    Whilst I am still to learns the ways of Transact-SQL (learning courses
    pending), I decided to create the relvant tables via the Enterprise Manager.

    One problem I do have is how can I set the default value of a Date/Time
    field so that when a record is entered, the current date and time is
    automatically entered. There is a section in the relevant column called
    Default" but what value(s) can I use in it? Using a standard Date() or
    CURRENT_DATE does not work/is not deemed invalid syntax by SQL
    Server/Enterprise Manager.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Regards
    Darren

    GETDATE()
    or
    CURRENT_TIMESTAMP

    I *strongly* suggest using CREATE TABLE syntax in Query yzer.
