SQL Server SP3 problems - Microsoft SQL / MS SQL Server

Hi Which version of SQL Server are you trying to update? Only apply the files needed. a.. Sql2ksp3.exe. Updates for database components. b.. Sql2kasp3.exe. Updates for ysis Services components. c.. Sql2kdesksp3.exe. Updates for Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE 2000). If you are not using MSDE and don't have ysis Services run sqlksp3.exe only. It sounds like the MSDE update is trying to install a new instance. Make sure that you read the readme first! Hi
Which version of SQL Server are you trying to update?

    Only apply the files needed.

a.. Sql2ksp3.exe. Updates for database components.
b.. Sql2kasp3.exe. Updates for ysis Services components.
c.. Sql2kdesksp3.exe. Updates for Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine
    (MSDE 2000).
If you are not using MSDE and don't have ysis Services run sqlksp3.exe
only. It sounds like the MSDE update is trying to install a new instance.
Make sure that you read the readme first!

    John

If you are unsure whether you have ysis Services installed, you are not
likely to have it installed. ysis Services is for data warehousing,
OLAP, data mining and that sort of stuff.
