Start Page Mystery
Hi- Dreamweaver & Contribute administrator, lost in a mystery. I had set
up DWMX2004 & CT v3 for a domain last year. The client wanted to rename her
domain from: florals-by-krys.com <TO> floralsbykrys.com. This is done, and DW
is fine with that. Contribute I cannot get a connection setup with the new
domain. I can remove old connection and set up a new one, (with no dashes), and
the new name will appear properly in the start page. However, as I hover over
the link, and even as I click to the new index page, the page that continually
loads is florals-with-dashes. (Florals-by-krys.com, with dashes, now resolves
to a parking-page out at Kentech or Kenyatech.com.) Oh, I can type in the new
domain name, and then can login properly, but this will not hold on the Start
page, it is a manual entry...otherwise I get sent off to kenyatech. Has anyone
got any idea, though, where in WinXP stores this, or am I missing something so
very basic? I have renamed, Edited, removed and recreated this home page on
contribute. Any help would be great! Thanks, rick

Re: Start Page Mystery
Mystery solved. In the Users & Roles/Edit Settings setup configuration, I
had somehow left theold domain name in 'Home Page for users in this Role' box.
So now, the Start page link to the home page of the NEW domain works properly.
Duh ;)

It would be nice if you were prompted to update all settings, given a list of
domain names.

Re: Start Page Mystery
Agreed, and I do feel a little foolish for having:
a) missed something that should have been so obvious
b) expected it to have BEEN so obvious.
Didn't realize that this particular setting wouldn't have been somewhere
closer to the "top" of the options.
