    When you paste, use Command-Shift-V.

    Hi Dave,

I meant to say the Paragraph Style Sheet, apple+shift+V will strip the format but will bring in the style sheet, even if it has the same name.

How do I not bring in the style sheet - simple 2 ID docs open and i want to do a quick copy and paste from one to the other - without the style sheet

Well, what do you know! Why would paste without formatting bring in the styling information? I guess because it was easier to do so.

But you're wrong about one thing: if the style name already exists in the receiving document, the incoming style definition is ignored.

Got it in the doc you are copying from select text then from paragraph palette click "Break Link To Style" then when you paste no Style follows but the format is retained
