Stopping automatic updating to release 9 - Macromedia Flash Player

Hi, I have reinstall release 8 because I have problems with release 9 with my old PII. It works perfectly fine with release 8 but I find out that release 8 auto update to the latest version 9xx without any notifications messages or anything ! and the problems reapper. I want to stay with the previous release. How do I stop Flash Player 8 from updating in the background ? Thank you, bye....

    Hi LuckyLuke123,

Adobe periodically updates Flash Player with new features or security fixes
and notifies users who have Flash Player installed when an update is available.
    To disable notification of updates:

    1. Right click on Flash content and select 'settings' and 'Advanced' and
navigate to the Global Notifications Settings Panel in the Flash Player
    Settings Manager.

Note: The Settings Manager is a Flash application that displays Flash Player
settings which are stored on your computer only.

    2. Deselect the Notify Me When an Update Is Available option to stop receiving
    notifications.

    3. Close the Settings Manager. Flash Player automatically remembers the new
    settings.

Updates to Adobe Flash Player are designed to ensure that Flash Player works
properly and may include changes to security or new product functionality.
Adobe recommends that you update to the latest version of Flash Player when a
new version is available, especially when a security update is mentioned.

For information about configuring auto-update for IT Administrators, see IT
Administration: Configuring Flash Player auto-update notification.

I was not talking about AUTO-NOTIFICATIONS I was talking about AUTO-UPDATING in
    the background !

It did it again today, I have to reinstall release 8 every time and the
auto-notification is disable if it can reassure you.
