Default Strange annoyance in Illustrator 10

Although I convinced my work place to purchase alteast 3 licenses of illustrator CS I regret making that choice, it will be a long time again before I risk buying another Adobe product.

So since then we have reverted back to 10, here is the problem, selecting ojects require exact presicion to make them activate, not sure if it's the tolerance issue or what but it makes difficult to function especially the selecting text, I can try to select text but most often I have to click more than once to have it selected, and if I wish to do multiple selections than sometimes all the that I have selected are deselected forcing me to start all over again.

Like I said I tried to play around with the tolerance but it does not help.

    Hope I'm making sense.

In your General Preferences check the box for area select. In the Type Preferences check the box for Text Area Select. This may help, but I've always found the tolerance for selecting individual points to be somewhat annoyingly precise in all versions of Illustrator.

One person's annoyingly precise is another's sloppy imprecision. I like it the way it is. I bought a new pair of glasses.

G A, so what do you feel is wrong with CS that you have to go back to AI10?

I'll have to agree with G A that selection is more annoying than in earlier days. I assume it has to do with higher screen resolutions, but there should be a preference for selection tolerance. Like Gary says, "One person's annoyingly…" that's why we have "preferences".

What really concerns me is G A's decision to downgrade to 10. We have yet to upgrade and I'm concerned about all the problems I'm reading about AICS.

Why would I upgrade when my clients won't touch AICS and I still have to save in AI8 to get a decent print? Adobe/Epson/Apple need to start working together...our businesses rely on them and we have been seriously let down!

Your clients won't upgrade - so Adobe, Epson and Apple have let you down?
