What's the answer to this question? Specifically, I would like to know if it's possible to stream swf's outputted by Captivate.

    SWF itself is streaming!
What are you trying to achieve?

I think that's a question many users have, and I think they mean can you stream
a SWF in the same manner as you can stream an FLV, in which case the answer is
    NO.

To take that a little further, to say that SWF itself is streaming, is also
not quite correct, although it might depend on your definition of streaming. A
SWF needs to be downloaded entirely (sans dynamically loaded objects) before it
is displayed to the user, and I don't think that qualifies as streaming.

But hey, that's just me, and I might be wrong.

as allnicksaretaken stated, swf's do not have the same streaming features that
can be accomplished with flv's and communication server. A swf will not allow
you to jump to the last frame of the swf until the entire swf has downloaded,
but with streaming an flv, you can jump to the end of the movie before the
entire movie loads completely...I want to be able to accomplish the same thing
with swf...I want to be able to jump to end of swf (that's output from
Captivate) without having to wait for entire swf to load...is this possible in
    any way?

To all, who ever wanted, want or will want to stream SWF:

No. Even in theory. At least in the current SWF concept. Several
frames may be dependent from each other. They also may have an
actions, without which subsequent frame will look incorrectly or even
    will not work completely.

SWF is NOT just a movie -- it is a program. With the same result you
could ask "How can I "stream" a MS Word in order to jump to the
"frame", when the text is over, without manual text typing?" :)

    Default Stream SWF

We have several large SWF files that were developed using Flash Captivate.
Some of these files run for 20 minutes, so we are thinking of getting a Flash
Media Streaming Server. Will the FMS play a SWF that was generated from
Capitavate or do these files need to be converted to FLV format. If so, what is
the best means to do so.

    Thanks for your help.
