Stroke weight - Adobe Illustrator Windows

It's a problem I have since the version 8 (the first for me, maybe it's older) and it seems incredible that the Illustrator Adobe Team hasn't yet fixed (yes it doesn't work in CS2). In the Stroke Weight drop down menu I'm unable to select 0.25, 0.5 and 0.75pt. I must type it myself....

I've been using CS since it came out and I can select .25, .5 and .75
without having to type it in. Strange...

I seem to recall an issue caused by different language settings. Are you on a non-English machine?

Edo, have a look here: <http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?128.3bb6c86f>

But hurry: by Sunday it is fallen into the abyss.

An English machine but with Belgian settings.

Ok thank you for the links, but it's not a real solution. Version 8 was released 10 years ago and the problem remains. In Indesign, it's works perfectly well since his first release. At least now, I know the problem.

Edo, what is wrong in changing the Windows settings to English (Control Panel>Regional and Language Options)? You can see if it corrupts things in other programmes, and change back if it does.

I didn't try because for my work I must keep my regional settings. I trust you, I suppose that the problem is there. I hope it will be fix at the next release.

Edo, I hope you are aware that the regional settings only affects the punctuation/presentation of numbers, time, and date, and that these settings are overridden by the specific settings in many programmes.

I know but for my work I must use a lot MS Word and Excel where it automatically changes the representation of decimal punctuations. It can be very serious you know. The only thing I don't know if why it works in Indesign, however from Adobe also.

    Cheers

Edo, I have the same problem when using drop down list. I have spanish configuration, so my decimal symbol is "," the drop down in Illustrator (english version) use "." that's why the system doesn´t understand 0.1 as decimal number, and do nothing with the stroke.

What you have to do is typing the number using the your decimal symbol from the keyboard (. or ,) if you use the "numerical keyboard" just type . and the system automatically use the correct symbol.
