Stroking Same Object Used for Clipping Mask
I know this may sound strange, but I came across an Illustrator file that contained a stroked clipping mask. If I release the clipping mask and then reapply it, the stroke disappears. I am racking my brain trying to figure out just what the heck is going on. I have posted the file for download (18K) at <http://www.mikeandileana.com/clippingmaskfile.eps>
If anyone can explain this oddity, I'd sure appreciate it.

Re: Stroking Same Object Used for Clipping Mask
This is a known behaviour, you have to add the stroke again.

Re: Stroking Same Object Used for Clipping Mask
But how is it possible that the stroke was there in the first place? It was intentinoally there.

Re: Stroking Same Object Used for Clipping Mask
As the man who did the job first made the clipping path, then applied the stroke.

Re: Stroking Same Object Used for Clipping Mask
Ahhh...I see now. I thought it was impossible to modify the fill/stroke of a clipping mask. I see that you can't fill but you can stroke. Now, do you have to use the Direct Selection tool to choose the clipping mask or is there an easier way?
Thanks,
Mike

Re: Stroking Same Object Used for Clipping Mask
Of course you can fill the mask. To use the white arrow to select the mask is an easy way, but there are other easy ways, too. Select it through the Layer Palette or choose Selection > Object > Clipping paths.
