Default Stuck Font -- HELP! (please!)

I'm SURE there's a simple explanation for this, but I just can't figure it
    out:

I've imported (actually "placed") text from a Word document into InD CS. In
Word, all the text was in Times Roman. This single "story" contains a Web
address, which has already been designated as a hyperlink. When it's brought
into InD, I *am* able to get rid of the hyperlink "box" by going to the
hyperlink palette and deleting it there. But no matter what I do to the text
of that story, I cannot seem to change it FROM Times Roman. I'll select ALL
text, change it to Minion ... it ALL changes, except what USED to be a
hyperlink ... THAT stays Times Roman.

What ELSE do I have to do to that former hyperlink, so that it "releases"
whatever hold Word has over it, and behaves itself in InDesign?

Sure would be grateful for some help.... thanks!

's simple. Word uses so-called 'character styles', and so does ID, so they
    get imported.
If you display the Character Styles palette with the text cursor in your
hyperlink you'll see that it is using the style 'hyperlink' (presumably),
and this style contains the font 'Times-Roman' as an override. Just delete
the character style & you''l be fine.
