Student discounts
Hi there.
At my school in the UK they have a site license for Photoshop 7. As I really like the software I'm wondering whether it is possible to get my own fully funtional copy at a discount price, as $600 seems a bit too expensive for me.
Thanks

Re: Student discounts
Look here at the results for Google search string: UK software prices "academic discount" <http://www.google.com/search?as_q=software+prices&num=100&hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&newwindow=1&btnG=Google+Search&as_epq=Academic+d iscount&as_oq=&as_eq=&lr=&as_ft=i&as_filetype=&as_ qdr=all&as_occt=any&as_dt=i&as_sitesearch=&safe=of f>
You'll need to dig through the results to find what you need.
Google is your friend.

school ?.
Maybe photoshop is more than for your requirements. There are lots of other cheaper programs too.

Re: Student discounts
I've tried PSP before and though it's good software, I wouldn't say it's the "professional" choice. The school use and teach photoshop because it's the industry standard. And as for Google, I've already tried that, so I thought I'd come straight to the Adobe website :-)

$269 at www.creationengine.com, although I'd go to $379 and get the Adobe Design Collection 7.0 (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat Professional & GoLive).

Re: Student discounts
You might also like to look at Photoshop Elements. It is fantastic value for money [IMHO]. It has the advantage over every other "cheap" package that all the skills you learn may be applied to full PS as and when you want/need to upgrade.

Re: Student discounts
You're unlikely to get any of the US discounts here in the UK- the prices here are roughly a third extra (i.e. instead of $600 it's 600 pounds instead).
Here's the best place to look for info --> <http://www.adobe.co.uk/education/purchasing/students.html>
As an example of prices Photoshop 7.0 full licence is 299.95 (uk pounds- sorry lost my pound sign when my laptop crashed last week!)
