Stupidest question
http://wind.prohosting.com/~cbminfo/weekly.swf
I wrote this ages ago, 2-3 years back. I've since been thru 3 hurricanes, moved
during 2 of the 3, and also moved on to a different machine.
Lots of things got lost specifically the FLA itself.
It seems to be a fade, with a touch of morph. I just can't recreate it.
Anyone have the source to duplicate this ?
I used thumbnails to keep the size down. And it still looks huge 121 kb.
All the images are in the swf.
I suspect I did it either with dreamweaver4 or fireworks 4. Possibly flash 5.

Good morning or good evening depending upon your location. I want to ask you the most important question of your life. Your joy or sorrow for all eternity depends upon your answer. The question is: Are you saved? It is not a question of how good you

Re: Stupidest question
I don't think it's as complicated as it looks...
Simply one picture is on for a while, then it fades out as another fades in.
Setting the alpha values and a bit of tweening should recreate it.
Otherwise, actionscript could handle the alpha values for you, but I don't
think anything like that is necessary.
Tell us how you get on,

I've been at it for months. Just reinstalled DW4 and FW4. I think it was an
automatic process, hit a button, and it popped up a config screen to select the
files, and options then output the swf.
I also had a demo slide show that you could load to a layer a series of images,
and the slideshow just went and showed one after the other, and IIRC it also
had this fade/morph customization.
Can't find that anymore either.
IIRC I was in the process of using that demo to recreate the link I showed here
when the 1st of the 3 hurricanes hit.
I can fade an image, can't morph it, not in 121k or less.
It's not so much a morph, as one image fades, alpha decreases, the alpha on the
other increases.
I tried image one over frames 1-30. image 2 over 15-45. Tried the fade out
1-30, fade in layer 2 15-45. Think I just need to figure out the correct
overlapping, but I really don't want to have to rebuild this weekly where
loading the images to one layer as a series and having the swf process the
images would be much simpler than modifying each image tween.
It's not that simple.
