Styles for lines, borders, colors, etc.

Is there a system analogous to the Paragraph styles and Character styles that can be used for setting colors, line widths, etc. for lines and picture frames?

As I answered in the other forum where you posted: No, but object styles would make a great feature request.

I'm looking into the Smart Styles plugin, which looks like it does what I want, but I'm rather disappointed that it isn't a built in feature. Is there a non-paying way to speak to a human to make a feature request?

There's no good reason to do that. Adobe is a big organization: There are several InDesign product managers, for example. One of them told us at the InDesign Conference that they sift through all the feature requests at least once a month to see what folks are requesting. (They solicited a hundred or more requests at the conference this summer.) There thousands of possible feature requests so whether a particular one is implemented depends on a lot of things--number of requests, what the Marketing Dept. sees as useful for driving sales, how easy it is to implement, etc.

There's no good reason to make the feature request, or there's no good reason for Adobe to accept feature requests? Both are pretty absurd assertions.

To your knowledge, is there an email address or a phone number which I can call to be added to the list of people making this particular feature request?

I think you misunderstood my statement. I meant that it is unnecessary to try to talk on the phone to one specific person to make a feature request. Make the request as Robert suggested. That's the mechanism (as well as the forum feature list) for a big organization like Adobe. (At a small company you could do it the way you want.)
