subsite administration in 3.1 - Macromedia Contribute Connection Administrtion

The answer is yes, but with a qualification. Firstly, it looks like every site, including subsites require an administrator. So, the administrator of the root site DOES NOT adminster the subsites. however, the root admin can edit pages in the subsites because editing pages puts a .lck file which is read by whoever regardless. It is impossible to not have a administrator at the subsite level because the first user to access the site is made the administrator. Has anyone seen different?...

i think in the case where you don't want a fully administerable subsite, then
you would use the /limit_to_this_dir setting in the role you want to assign at
the root level.

Can someone from MM please confirm?

The root /www administrator has permissions to edit pages in any of the subdirectories, no special configuration needed.

I found this article useful:
http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/contribute/articles/new_cps_features.html I
think the subsite is completely independent of the root site and you need to
make the root admin the subsite's admin also.
