    Default Suddenly can't print from ANY version of Acrobat!

    Hi, all --

    I haven't seen this anywhere else, so let me give some background here...

    I've had Acrobat Pro 6.0 installed on a PowerBook G4 for some time. No problems.

    And, I've had Adobe Reader 7.0.9 installed side by side with it. No problems.

    I went to upgrade the reader to 8.0 today, and now I cannot print from ANY version of Acrobat. It appears to print, but hangs at either the "sending data" barber-pole progress bar, or at 100% on the "processing job" progress bar --- either way, nothing ever comes out of the printer, and I really figure that HOURS should be plenty of time for a 20K file to show up....

    I have stripped and reinstalled every possible combination of the two: A-Pro 6.0 and A-Reader 8.0. I've installed each alone, with the same results. Removed and reinstalled the printer driver: same results. Done the complete "down to the walls" manual removal of every Acrobat-related file: same results on the reinstall.

    No other app --- including Adobe apps --- has any trouble printing, at all. It's not the PDF files themselves, as Apple Preview has no trouble with them at all. Reader 8.0 did something to my system that I don't like at all, and now I cannot even get it back to the way it was, just happily puttering along with my "old" AcroPro 6.0. Can anyone help me out here?

    OS = 10.4.8
    PowerBook 1.33 gHz, 1GB RAM
    Printer = Brother MFC-4420C

    Matt,

    Remove the print driver and re-install it.

    Default Re: Suddenly can't print from ANY version of Acrobat!

    Matt,

    I have had the same problem for over 2 months on both a PC and a MAC. I've tried printing the PDF (using Acrobat 7 - latest update) on 5 different printers with nothing! I've spoken with Apple, HP and Adobe to no avail. I even rolled back to Acrobat 6.0 (no updates either) just to get the printing done.

    But, 2 days ago, I changed the Page Scaling to Reduce to Printer Margins and the file printed. I cannot figure out why but maybe this will work for you too.
