Suddenly creating multiple .pdfs! Help!

I wrote and even published a "dummy" copy of a book with lulu.com Now, I'm trying to edit the book. I've created a .pdf probably over 25 times with no problems.

All of a sudden today, when I create a .pdf, it turns into 2 separate files. My book has two sections and the sections each have their own .pdf

This is unacceptable to lulu.com They can only take 1 single .pdf

So, I tried to combine the two .pdfs with Acrobat. That worked fine but it created multiple embeddings of the same fonts. Lulu's printers will go beserk with multiple embeddings of the same font.

So, I tried the acrobat optimizer and removed the extra embeddings. This caused my original document to lose its original font. Some weird font substitution happened.

I have no idea why it suddenly started creating multiple .pdfs. Please, can someone help me! I'm just about to do a final upload for the offical press run of my book.

I am using a macbook. OS 10.4 Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.

The way I create a .pdf is to open my document and to hit PRINT. Then I go to the lower left hand and choose create .pdf.

(On my windows computer, I used to be able to print directly to the Adobe .pdf printer. But, on my Mac, I tried that but it wouldn't make a custom sized page. I could create a custom size but when I chose the adobe printer, those options would be greyed out. When I created the .pdf, it would revert back to default of 8.5 x 11 paper. I could pick the custom size for my regular printer though. Lulu requires 6x9 inch dimensions. This is a SECOND PROBLEM but if anyone has hints for that, I would be SO GRATEFUL. I can no longer access my windows thus must rely on my mac now.)

That doesn't use Acrobat or any other Adobe product. You'll want to ask what's up in the Apple forums.

Then, can you help me solve the problem with Adobe? I can create a custom page size (6x9) but then the option is greyed out when I try to print to my Adobe pdf.

All the documents are created in 8.5 x 11 page size.

I have a custom page that I created called half-page. When I select that
in the Page Setup menu and then print to the AdobePDF instance it
creates a page that is half size.

Making it half the size won't give me 6x9.

No it won't, but it was a custom page size that I created. You should be
able to create a custom page in the Page setup menu and make sure it is
selected in Page setup before you create your pdf. It should work.
