SUPER-UX Cray - what is the closest popular unix version ?
Hi,
Which unix version is the closest to SUPER-UX ?
Is HP-UX a good guess ?
Unfortunately I can't afford to buy a Cray but would like to learn more
on how to
administer SUPER-UX boxes.

than that you learn a specific one. After a while, you'll learn what is
Unix, and what is specific to different OSs.
That way, you get lots of practice learning new UNIX types and specific
experience isn't so critical.

However, once OP _does_ have a basic understanding of unix[0], it might be
worth talking to these guys[1]:

[0] OP will now forget all good advice and skip his homework of learning
the basic general unix commands. Hopefully not, but I have no illusions.
[1] I am not affiliated, I just know they exist.

I've work on SCO, DEC, Tru64, HP-UX and AIX in the past but never had
the opportunity to touch to SUPER-UX.
I was only wondering if there was something close.
Like a RedHat vs Mandrake type of thing ...
There are not the same and they have a lot of different feature but it's some how similar
....

so assuming that the vague question indicated little, I gave general advice.
google for "unix rosetta stone", maybe super-ux is listed on there.> I've work on SCO, DEC, Tru64, HP-UX and AIX in the past but never had

newsgroups
and I usually don't see people starting the post with a copy of their resume in the
header ..
I'm just joking ... Don't take this personal ...
Thanks for the "unix rosetta stone". I knew that such thing existed by I didn't know that> google for "unix rosetta stone", maybe super-ux is listed on there.
rosetta stone was the official name for it.
