swap text on click or rollover?
I'm trying to swap text on a mouse click, but can't figure out if it's possible
in either Dreamweaver or Fireworks (note: I have very old versions of both. DW
MX and FWKS 3)
I have pictures of a bunch of folks, and would like the user to be able to
click on the photo and have the appropriate text display in a square. When you
click on a different picture, I'd like different text to appear. I don't want
to use an image of text because it always looks awful.
Is this possible to do?
thanks.

Re: swap text on click or rollover?
Sure - it's possible. Use the SetTextofLayer behavior. Have a single layer
to receive all of the different text contents, and each click on a photo
would cause different text to appear in that layer.
That's how I have done the mouseovers on this page -

Re: swap text on click or rollover?
I've bodged together a page that does something similar, its from a clients
site so I've removed a lot of the content (and layout) so it may look a little
odd but you get the general idea. Take a look at http://www.andybyard.co.uk and
hover over the pics and the text should change. If you do a view source you can
grab the javascript and mess with it to your hearts content. I'll be updating
my home page shortly but the page will be there for at least another week.

Re: Re: swap text on click or rollover?
Oops, looks like I removed a bit too much. I was trying to put everything in
one file rather than have a seperate JS for the original poster to download
(what happened to his query? all I can see is your response Murray)
I've ditched the OnLoad from the body tag (as it wasn't doing anything
relevant to the post) and uploaded the new page (still with messy layout etc.)

Re: swap text on click or rollover?
Hello! I'm trying to figure out how to swap the text also. I have a gallery
page set up with small thumbnails at the top and a larger image with text below
the thumbnails. I would like the text beside the large image to change when the
thumbnails are clicked. The link in the last thread of this post doesn't work.
Can someone send me a sample code in order to create this gallery page? Thanks!
