Incidentally, it's always a good idea to save a copy of your preferences somewhere before trashing them. If that trick doesn't fix your problem, it's very irritating to have to reset all your preferences for nothing.

swatch libraries
I have fabric scans from a fabric company in TIFF format. Is there a way to create a new swatch library and add it to my swatches in either Illustrator 10 or Photoshop 8. I have a PowerMac G4. Do I need to scale the images so that they are in proportion to my illustrations?
