Swatches Missing?

James if you have been using many fonts for 14 years YOU HAVE HAD a Corrupt font at least once probably more, it just never seemed to cause a problem. It is very hard to suggest a solution or a step in the trouble shooting process when the subject will not listen or follow directions. when you ask for help you are simply the hands, eyes, and the ears for the person that is helping you. Your opinion is moot. You supply the facts and follow direction, if the trouble shooter is a babo it won't get fixed, if they are good no matter what they tell you to do as long as they can find a solution you should do it and complain when they are finished.... so find a corner and stand on your head and ....lol. At least she is trying to help.

Why would you resurrect this old thread just to insult me? I have no idea what a "babo" is, but clearly you are much smarter than I am, and know it. I do have to wonder how you know with absolute certainty what has and hasn't been corrupt on my hard drive, perhaps you are psychic as well?

It is not my "opinion" that I did not have to reinstall or refrain from using any of the fonts on my system in order to re-obtain the use of the missing swatch panel. To anyone having this particular problem, I'd suggest not wasting your time hunting for a corrupt font. Instead, deactivate all the fonts on your machine. Restart (or log out). Trash all of AI 10s various preference files. Restart. Reactivate your fonts. Launch Illustrator. Problem solved, on my machine, both in "fact" and in my "opinion."
