switching from spread to perfectbound (single-page output)
I have a 56-pagebooklet spread layout that needs to change to perfectbound (single pages). But when I make the change (unchecking facing pages in Document Setup), all of my right-side footers (set up in a master page) jump to the left. How can I prevent this from happening? I don't want the footers or anything to change. I just want to have a single page output instead of a spread. How can I do this?
Many thanks,
Scarlett

Re: switching from spread to perfectbound (single-page output)
I don't understand why you need to change anything. Perfect bound still has a binding side and a trim side, so why must anything change?

Re: switching from spread to perfectbound (single-page output)
For a single page output, deselect spread in the print dialog... unless I am misunderstanding the issue.

Re: switching from spread to perfectbound (single-page output)
That's what I thought. That nothing needs to be changed. But when I deselect facing pages in Doc Setup the footers on the odd-numbered pages pages jump from the right side of the page to the left side of the page. How do I prevent this from happening?
This document has to be sent to the printer in PDF form, ready to print, so I can't just deselect spread in the print dialog. I have to build the layout as a single page booklet.
Many thanks!

Re: switching from spread to perfectbound (single-page output)
By deselecting facing pages, you are making an enormous change. That's what I don't understand. Why are you doing that? Perfect bound documents still have facing pages.

Re: switching from spread to perfectbound (single-page output)
Did you set up your document in other than reader spreads? I really can't understand (a) why you would have had spreads on when you made a PDF, unless you organized your document in printer spreads for some other kind of printing, or (b) why you can't just switch off spreads in PDF export. That's what the rest of us do -- well, actually, we never switch it on in the first place unless we're making local booklets.

Re: switching from spread to perfectbound (single-page output)
Do not deselect facing pages. It is not necessary (shouldn't be, and hasn't been for me) to change a document from facing pages to non-facing pages in order to get a single page output.
To Print:
File > Print
Under the first part of the dialogue, labeled General, look to the middle. There is a section labeled Pages. Within that, set pages to all and sequence to all pages. Make sure that Spreads is deselected (no check mark). If it is selected, click on it to toggle that option off.
Set your other desired options as normal.
To Export to PDF:
File > Export
Give it a name and a destination, ensure the file type is set to Adobe PDF and click Save.
In the Export Adobe PDF dialog that pops up, near the middle is a section labeled Pages. As with the option for Printing, if the Spreads option is selected, click it to deselect.
Click Export once your other options are satisfactory.

Re: switching from spread to perfectbound (single-page output)
I use reader spreads, so when proofing gets done the reader can see how the magazine will look. I turn it off for sending the final pdf to the printer.
What Michael said.
