Synchronizing color management between apps - Adobe Indesign Windows

I'm on WinXP with ID CS2 and PS CS2 only. I get a lovely message opening various files in either program telling me the color management isn't synchronized. Try as I might I can't get them the same.(they have different dialogs too so it isn't easy). I think I've got things the same in each but obviously I haven't because I keep getting the message. Is it true that only if you have the full suite does Bridge have a Synchronize option? If true, I'm saddened 'cause I'm getting nowhere fast. Rob E....

Default Re: Synchronizing color management between apps

Open Color Settings in Photoshop first. Make all choices, THEN click Save and name the recipe. Now it is available at the top dropdown list for color management recipes. OK out and close Photoshop.

Open InDesign and go to Color Settings. From the top dropdown list, choose the custom-named recipe that you made already and click ok. Restart InDesign. Restart Photoshop. You are synchronized.

Default Re: Synchronizing color management between apps

I have upgraded to CS2 versions of Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and have Acrobat 7 installed (essentially all the apps in the suite except version cue). It seems to recognize synchronized apps if I leave them at the installed default setting, but there seems to be no way to change them all at once.

    Am I missing something?

    Thanks for any assistance,
    Richard
