Default <system.diagnostics> error on side-by-side installation...

    Hi!

I am having a problem that I do not have any clue on what
to do. I have tries a few obvious things...

<system.diagnostics> in the main web.config file is
giving configuration error on a particular machine that
has both version of vs.net installed (v1.0.3705 and
    v1.1.4322).

However it is working fine in other machines where only
the latest version of vs.net is installed.

I tried a few things like making userName=SYSTEM in
machine.config etc. but nothing helped. There should not
be any error in the code as the same code is running on
    other machines.

Can somebody help? Is it because the previous version
needs to be removed? Any other clue will be appreciated.
I already spent quite a bit of time on this.

    Thanks in advance

Default RE: <system.diagnostics> error on side-by-side installation...

    Hello S.K,

From the problem description, I couldn't tell exactly what the error is. It is better if you could post the <system.diagnostics>
section and detailed error message here.

Since the problem is caused on a machine with two versions of frameworks, I also suggest you to remap asp.net with 1.1
version of .net framework first. Please go to C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322 and run aspnet_regiis.exe to
    register asp.net 1.1 again.

If the problem still can't be resolved, please post here. Thanks very much.
