T3 and 146GB disks - Sun Solaris

My company is considering StoredgeT3 , for our existing 280R . I have checked SUN web site , T3 supports 73GB and 181Gb disk , but not 146GB ,we have been using 146GB FC-AL with our SUN servers , just wonder if they will work on T3 ? In theory they should work , I am just worrying if there is any hiden reason for SUN to skid this model , since 181GB is supported , unless 146Gb is newer model then 181Gb . One more question is , what do I need to use T3 as two large mirrored ...

    Default T3 and 146GB disks

My company is considering StoredgeT3 , for our existing 280R .
I have checked SUN web site , T3 supports 73GB and 181Gb disk , but
not 146GB ,we have been using 146GB FC-AL with our SUN servers , just

    146Gb is newer model then 181Gb .

One more question is , what do I need to use T3 as two large mirrored
volumes or a RAID 5 volume ? Do I need additional software other then
    Solaris 8 ?

Thanks in advance for any advise/feed back

Instead of the T3 you should consider Sun's new minnow product SE3510, it
provides 2gb host connections and is much faster that the T3 cheaper too.
It does support those 146GB drives.

Actually T3 has been replaced by T4 (called 6000-series) which supports
    146GB. There is also a new lower-end array 3510FC that supports 146GB,
    probably faster than T3/T4 too.

No the reason is that they released T4 and 3510FC to support that disk
    which obsoleted the T3.

No not really, you can configure T3 via serial port.
Although a large RAID-5 beats mirroring performance wise.

Look into 3510FC instead, a very promising product.
