Thanks for the discussion of this. I too was stupefied that the MAC had a easy KSC for entering an extremely essential character in table cells and that IndyCS Win was shipped brain-dead for this.

Thanks to Sandee's clear instructions I braved the Keyboard Shortcut dialog and made a custom set. The only thing I did different was assigning Ctrl+Tab as the Tab shortcut (in Table context). The disadvantage is it disables hot switching to the Selection tools while the text tool is active. But for me, that's a small price to pay. Plus it's consistent with Word's KSC for the same action and with my anti-MAC, "the less fingers the better" philosophy.

Thanks to the CS team for providing this fantastic feature. Although I doubt the majority of users will ever touch it, it shows Adobe's commitment to supporting the almost fanatical behavior of the Pro-user community. If you haven't seen a complete list of the default KSCs, press the Show Set button (mine was 14 pages long). This list has a lot of unassigned KSCs, but it gives you an idea of just how much flexibility is there, if you need it.
