Table/Formatted Text Select Tool does not work for Acrobat 3.x file
I have a Acrobat 3.x file created from Crystal Report 8.5 exported command and wanted to convert this PDF file into Excel 2000 for further editing.
I opened the pdf file in Acrobat 5.0 and select the 'table/formatted text select tool' to highlight the table to copy. I noticed that the blue color (table) rectangle is created around the area that I dragged. However, the content itself is not highlighted and when i tried Save as a ANSI Text file and opening it in Excel 2000. The content is blank.
I tried another Acrobat 4.x file and managed to successfully copy and paste the rectangle area into Excel 2000.
Is it that Acrobat 5.0 does not support Acrobat 3.x file? I tried opening the 3.x file and 'Save As' another filename in Acrobat 5.0 and perform the copy again, still it does not work.
What should i do so that i could convert my Acrobat 3.x file into Excel format, please help.
I'm running Acrobat 5.0 in Win98 environment.
