table height and NS issues - Macromedia Dreamweaver

If it is critical that the footer rides the bottom of the page at all times, you may want to consider doing this with a frameset. cv "Erica Rosen" <stop> wrote in message news:bgr5ph$tv$macromedia.com... is there a workaround for table height=100% in NS? i am trying to make my page a table so that the bottom shows up at the bottom of the screen, but in NS even if i make it height=99%, the bottom is off the screen. Any ideas? http://tpmc.com/newsite/ thanks! erica =)...

    Erica:

Table height is not valid HTML.

You can use js, or CSS to position your footer at the bottom of the page, or
you can use a persistent layer to do that, or you can even use frames as
    Craig recommended (ewwww!).

    Would any of those suit?

    For CSS, see PVII's site - http://www.projectseven.com/
For js, see PVII's LayoutDesigner2 extension
For Persistent layer, see Marja Ribbers-de Vroed's site

Simply put, this can't be done reliably in all browsers. This is one of the
rare occasions where I might recommend using Frames.

Well....in this case, thank NS b/c table height is not actually "valid"
although some browsers look the other way when you use it.

Sorry to add frames into the mix of possible solutions, but it's the only
way I could think of to reliably recreate your concept across browsers and
    platforms.
