Default Table of Contents not showing leaders consistently

I am having trouble with a Table of Contents showing the leaders (....) properly before the page numbers. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I define the TOC to list only one selected style (Figure Title) and how that style will be displayed. I also indicated the desire to have a ^t lead in to the page numbers and have defined the paragraph style to include leaders. However, when the table is created, some lines have leaders and some do not. Note that I only desired to have one style listed (Figure Title), so there should not be a problem with differing styles.

Here is how it looks (except everything is right-justified correctly, there are just blank spaces when there are no leaders...):

    List of Figures
    Figure 1 Regional Location 3
    Figure 2 Local Vicinity........................ 4
    Figure 3 Local Context 4
    Figure 4 Slope Analysis ........................6
Figure 5 Wildland Fire Threat Analysis ........7
Figure 6 Flood Hazard Areas 8

I followed step-by-step instructions in the InDesign manual and Classroom in a Book, but the problem still occurs.

    Thanks, Colin

Is this within the InDesign document or in an exported PDF?

If in the ID doc, are the paragraph styles applied to these lines all the same?

If it's in the exported PDF, then deactivate eBook Tags when you export.

This is a problem the folks at MS are aware of and hopefully fixing. I've found sometimes it simply doesn't display the .'s and other times it will replace them with a '!' or other misc. character. You have to replace your leader dot with an ellipsis character (right click -> Insert Special Character -> Ellipsis). It's easiest just to put one in a text frame and then cut and paste it into your leader setting box.

Before anyone jumps on my butt, I meant the folks at ADOBE are aware of the problem.

We've found that if you turn off "include e-book tags" during the PDF export process, the TOC prints correctly.

    Definitely a bug.

That "include e-book tags" option can have other dangerous side-effects too. And it doesn't look as though the recent update addresses this issue (based on reading the readMe).

However, I didn't understand from Colin's original post that this was an issue on export to PDF. The topic suggests that these problems are showing up inside the ID document.
