    Default Table of Contents problems

ID 2.02 PC Win 2000 Pro

I have created a table of contents and placed it in a text box. When I try to edit some of the text (copy/paste, double clicking, etc) ID crashes. So far I have not lost any information. But this is getting irritating and scary.

Is there a way to unlink or turn off "TOC" for a text box without redoing? I have tried to copy the text to a blank doc, but ID crashes when I paste.

    Any suggestions?

    Problem solved!

I exported the story as Tagged Indesign text, then placed it in a blank doc. The styles that I had already set were imported with it, but now it is no longer a TOC (no more crashing). After finishing my changes I just copied and placed the text in a new text box without creating it as a TOC. Kinda defeats the purpose for having TOC options, except for the gathering of the style information from the document.

Still not sure why I was having a problem with the text set as a TOC.
