Tables - adding to editable area
Why is it when adding a two column table to an editable area of my template,
the table will only be 3/4 width of the editable area? It should be the same
width unless I want it narrower. When I try to drag it to the width it should
be it won't do it.
Here's the page: http://www.anthonydellcellars.com/events.htm
How do I correct this problem?
Thank you

Re: Tables - adding to editable area
The Editable area has nothing to do with the width of the table. It's not a
layout device. It's a content management device. Try detaching that page
from the template, and look at the width of the table - it'll be the same.
If you are having layout issues, then look at the HTML layout markup on the
page. However, when I look at that page in IE6 and in DW8, I do not see
this width thing that you describe.

Re: Tables - adding to editable area
Thanks Murray.
The editable area is about 650 pixels. when I want to add a two column table I
want it to be the same width. But for some reason it's narrower and it won't
let me drag it to the edge to make it the same width.
I must be doing something wrong when setting up my pages. I've done a few
sites with DW and they are fairly simple designs. Tables are always a problem
and I wish I knew how to control them. I thought DW would take care of it but
that's not the case. I've read the help files and have a DW book but they never
answer these basic questions. Maybe you know more than they do Murray.

Re: Tables - adding to editable area
For starters, don't do this -> I wish I knew how to control them
> drag it to the edge to make it the same widthAsk the questions (however this thread is better suited for the dreamweaver> answer these basic questions
forum, not the dynamic.html forum).
The width of the inner table is completely controlled by a) the way you
assign its width, and b) the width of the container. If the inner table is
not properly sized, then you have to look at the thing into which it's been
inserted.
Wanna repost this (or clarify your questions) over on the DW forum?
