if your a 3d person I wouldnt advise trying to program your way into an answer
3d is a visual medium not a programming one. You can use several copies of the
object, the start, the middle object with the taper effect, and the end effect.
Export it as a single file with three objects. hide the second two and have
them appear behind the first one in succession. put the hide and visiblity
scripts in frames. Another way without programming is to put bones on both
sides of the object and push the tips inward
