    Default Re: task bar

Most programs which launch into the taskbar will have a disable option to
    remove the icon.

So check there first and if doesn't help repost and I will give you the
    registry tweak.

The exclaimation flashing thing is because I disconnect
the physical cable connection. If I change the registry,
would there be any problem if I send a print to the
    network printer. Thanks.

That area is offically called the "System Notification Area,"
although most people call it the "System Tray." Either name will
    do.

If you want to stop programs from starting automatically when you
boot, first look at each program's options. Many programs can be
    stopped in that way.

For any others you want to stop, run MSCONFIG from the Start |
Run line and stop them there.
