templates
I am trying to use a stock template from Contribute 3 or 4 and I cannot get the
complete file. It starts to download but then stops . What is happening? I
used to be able to do this. When Ilook on the server I have an image folder and
then some lck files. But not the unlocked html page.
Thanks,
Nancy

Templates
Is there a way I can create my own templates (in Dreamweaver) and add it to the
Template folder that appears when I'm in Contribute (and click new)? I have a
template that I've added to my folder (where my pages reside); yet I can't find
it in Contribute. Also, there's nothing in the Template folder in Contribute;
the Contributed packaged templates are under "started web pages" folder. Help.
:confused;

Re: Templates
When you create a Template in Dreamweaver and save the template, by default
Templates folder will be created. And the template will be placed inside that
Templates folder. When you create a connection in Contribute you can see
Templates listed.

Re: Templates
But there's also the question of availability throught admin-settings.
When you have administrator rights:
1. in the menu go to Edit, Administer Websites
2. go to Users and Roles, pick your role
3. click Edit Role Settings
4. go to New Pages
5. check if the dreamweaver templates are displayed as you like
When you don't have admin-rights contact your administrator.

Re: Templates
Thanks to you both for responding so quickly.
When in Contribute I see the template inside the template folder. When I go
to open it, I get prompted "the file cannot be added in teh Contribute web
browswer." So I know I can add it to that template folder (where my pages
reside), but I don't know how to add it to the template folder from File / New
within that template folder. Did I loose you yet? :grin; I did verify I had
the correct admin permissions.

Re: Templates
Please write out the steps you take within Contribute, to clarify where you are doing what and where you are seeing what.

Re: Templates
1. created template "A.dwt" using Dreamweaver
2. saved template "A.dwt" in folder "X", same folder the web pages reside in
(in a developement server)
3. opened Contribute CS3
4. clicked File / New: I see Templates folder but nothing in it, clearly this
Template folder is not where I added "A.dwt." Question: How do I add the
"A.dwt" file to this folder?
5. I called our systems support person and had her copy the "A.dwt" file to
the configuration / template folder and still no templates in it.
6. I 'm a the point of giving up.
I hope this is not too confusing. Thank you.
