Templates won't update - Macromedia Dreamweaver

Hi everyone I am a student learning Dreamweaver MX, and am having trouble with my templates. I have been happily updating child pages from the templates, then all of a sudden they don't update. It is really inconsistent from one day to the next and I cannot figure out what I have done or why it works occasionally. I remember seeing once in a forum months ago, "there are two or three things that make templates stop updating,"... Of course I can't remember what they were and I cannot find the thread now. Thanks to anyone who can help me! ...

    Hi everyone

    Thanks, Murray
Yes, I think I may have inadvertently moved the templates folder when moving a file through the Site window. But I put it back again already. I am trying to fnd out how to recreate the cache for MX - the F1 button "help" says it's an extension for Dreamweaver 3. Do you have a reference for me to find out how to do it?

    Thanks again,

    Keogh2

    > But it still doesn't update. The dialogue box says "files inspected-8
files updated-0 files unable to update-0" which doesn't make sense to me. I
do understand that the template seems to be one of the files in the count,
and so seven more should have been updated.
    > I have another theory: How does one properly remove an editable area from
a template? I had a one-cell editable "content" section for the middle of
the template. I added a second one below it with two cells for different
layouts. Afterwards I realized I could just insert a table into the one cell
to make the different layouts. So I tried to delete the second two-cell
editable region, and had a bunch of dialogue boxes to account for the
spaces, so I assigned the content to the first single cell. I am redoing the
one page that used the two-cell editable region.
