Temporary Tables - IBM DB2

We have used Declared Global Temporary Tables to return the resultsets built by Cobol Stored Procedures to calling ASP apps. These persist only for the life of the `session`. Our mainframe folks need to take some non-DB2 data and persist across several CICS transactions, sorted and scrollable. Is there another form of Temp table that could be persisted till explicitly dropped? Would need to be unique, perhaps incorporating the cics termid into name. Basically they need to implement `paging` X number of entries at a time. OS/390 V 7 for that app. No sense them reading and re-reading some vsam ...

OS/390 V 7 for that app. No sense them reading and re-reading some
    vsam files each time through...

    Maybe the CICS COMMAREA or
maybe something with READQ TS (temporary queue) or READQ TD (transient
    queue)

The VSAM has to be under CICS control.

.... getting rusty on CICS though...

You can also look for cics and cobol newsgroups.
    There is also bit.listserv.ibm-main.
