Testing Server is OK but cannot use bindings

I am using Macromedia book 'Dreamweaver MX 2004 with asp, coldfusion, and php'.
When build the dynamic site newland tours and select index file in the files
panel and click on F12 I get the site up OK via inetpub.wwwroot, which I assume
means the testing server is working. However with asp page up Bindings panel
does not have a check mark by testing server and the + button does not work.
Have also entered folowing prob. I am getting very slow response in Dreamweaver
2004 when select: Managing sites and click on Edit. No hour glass for about 30
seconds then about 30 seconds later get the site screen. Have not had this
problem in the past. Have uninstralled and reinstalled dreamweaver and cleared
site definitions. No help. Another point: When select a site that already has
recordsets the bindings work OK -- just not with new sites that do not have any
recodsets identified.

When DW previews a dynamic page, my understanding is that it uses an
internal engine to parse it, therefore you statement about the testing
server being set up may not be right. I would check the location of the
testing server in the Site definition and ensure that it is correct.
