Default Testing Server Not Recognized

Hi,
please could somebody help with a problem I've been trying to sort out for the
last 8 hours. I've been trying to setup for an ASP site and followed all the
steps in the DW tutorial, but keep on having a problem with setting up the
testing server.
My web server (IIS) and testing server are both local.

Site Details:
Local Root Folder - C:\Sites\GettingStarted\Develop\asp\
Remote Folder - C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\MyApp
Testing Server - C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\MyApp
URL Prefix - http://localhost/myapp/

After setting up the testing server, DW does not recognise it as being setup
and does not put a tick next to it in the list of setting up a site. (I've seen
this problem many times in the forum, but cannot find the resolution).

Running:
Windows XP Pro with Service PAck 2
Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 6.1

I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE, AS I NEED TO SORT THIS OUT FOR MY FINAL
YEAR PROJECT AT UNIVERSITY WHICH IS TO BE HANDED IN VERY SOON.

Thanks,

Sarb.

There was an issue with localhost settings in DW after SP2 was installed
that may be causing the problem. Go to the MM site and do a search for
"localhost + sp2 + xp" and it is the first one that comes up

Hi Paul,

thank you for your response. I have now sorted out the problem. However, the
extension fix given by macromedia did not work on my software. I then installed
a newer version of the fix from (I don't understand why macromedia themselves
do not provide it):

http://www.interaktonline.com/Products/Bundles/MXKollection/Technotes/Details/Da
tabase+connection+fails+with+ASP+servers.html?id_t hn=72

and it now works fine.

Thanks,

Sarb.
