Also, check the size of the type. If you're set at 36 pixels and typing in a 72ppi document, there ya go, half-inch text.

Re: text
You could break it into shapes and use the ink bottle tool to add an
outline. However, once the individual letters are shapes, you can no longer
edit the text

Re: Text
all you have is images one after another you would need to create tables and
cells to place your content within. since you are using images would you set
your image as a cells background. if you could upload your layout somewhere i
will start it off for you and help you along.

Text
I am looking for how to create text that has transparency when you overlap
text How could I do this?
For example, black lettering if it passed over another black lettering
would turn white and white lettering if it passed over other white
lettering would turn black.

Re: Text
Well, you've tossed in an added problem with the black on black. If you
want white text on white text to turn black, change the blending mode
to "Difference" in the transparency palette. Black on black really
doesn't work like that. Black will just overprint anything. You can
choose a dark color, but not black. Even a 90,90,90,90 CMYK should work
though. Just not 100% black or just black in any form. Hope that works.
