Text Animated Skyscraper; please help :)
I have created an animated banner for work and it seemed to work okay but for
some reason whenever my boss uploads it with FTP (I think) He's not able to see
the add. Whenever he sends me the final product (which is the skyscraper
banner in an e-mail that we send out weekly to our costumers) he can't see it
but I can. If so, I think it's how I publish it and it's because most people
don't have flash player 9; so I published it as Flash 5 and that still doesn't
seem to work for him but for me it does. Does anyone have any idea why this is
happening? I'm not a developer; I'm more a designer and I barely touched
websites before this so I'm in complete darkness when it comes to him uploading
this to our website or in this case, the e-mails we send out. A quick over
view how he did it (though he's not familiar with flash coding at all is) I
published the flash banner as HTML. He uploads the fla file, the flash movie
and then copies the text from HTML and adds that to where he normally would
place the coding for regular jpeg. banners that he used. Please, if anybody's
familiar with this can you please help me out. I've been trying to figure this
out all weekend and I NEED to have figured it out by tomorrow because this
e-mail goes out on Tuesday. Thank you guys so much for taking your time to
read this and replying if you do so.

Re: Text Animated Skyscraper; please help :)
As far as I know, you cannot put a SWF file in an email and have it
successfully show across all email client. Try exporting your banner to an
animated GIF. If that doesn't produce a good enough image then export it as a
bitmap sequence and convert those files to an animated GIF in ImageReady or
something like that. Apparently Flash's export to animated GIF is not that
great.
Here's a good article on HTML emails you can read. You'll need to make sure
your GIF is posted somewhere that the HTML email can refer to. It explains it
in the article.
