Default Text Block Too Large? MXa/XP

    Hey Folks,
I'm trying to map a map index, but I'm running into an error message: "Could
not complete the paste command because the text block is too large."

I'm assumming this is read "too many characters" and not size? Text block is
    around 18"x24".
This worked fine in InDesign...and I convinced my bosses/executives to fork
over the dough for two copies of FH...and now we can do a simple (but long)
    index. Hm.

XP / MXa / Text block is around 32000 characters...

    Help? Thanks!

There must be an upper limit to the file size. I just tried to import a
33,000-character RTF file and got the same message you did. When I cut it
down to 29,500 characters it came in fine (FH11 on a Mac).

You could try cutting it into two separate blocks. Unfortunately, you won't
be able to connect them - I tried.

Of course you could always take out the spaces between words... Well, maybe
    not.

    It's confirmed.

MM Support: "I also consulted our senior engineers regarding this issue and it
seems that this is already a FreeHand limitation because the text that you are
trying to import into FreeHand was extremely to many to fit in to the
    application.
The only work around for this one would be to use additional text block on
    your document."

Anybody else ever need to link a lot of text boxes or have a lot of characters
in a text box? I'm doing a map index, and darnit if Texas doesn't have a lot of
    populated places!! :)

Side note: The MM support was actually decent in responding--once they
understood the actual problem, after three emails... It appears at least the
email support was offshored (my assumption), so this might be a contributing
factor into why some of our support requests aren't as adequate as we'd like.

    cheers,
