Text blurs when grouped with an object - Macromedia Freehand

I'm new at FH. I have a fair amount of experience with Adobe products and with Visio (and I'm enjoying FH a lot!). Something I do frequently is to create a shape, enter some text over the shape, then group the two so I can move them conveniently. However, with FH I find that grouping causes the text to blur noticeably. As soon as I ungroup the text from the object, the text snaps back to crisp clarity. Can anyone tell me what's happening and/or how to work around it? I am using FreeHand MX. I believe it says version ...

Default Text blurs when grouped with an object

I'm new at FH. I have a fair amount of experience with Adobe products and with
Visio (and I'm enjoying FH a lot!). Something I do frequently is to create a
shape, enter some text over the shape, then group the two so I can move them
conveniently. However, with FH I find that grouping causes the text to blur
noticeably. As soon as I ungroup the text from the object, the text snaps back
to crisp clarity. Can anyone tell me what's happening and/or how to work
    around it?

I am using FreeHand MX. I believe it says version 11.02 or so on startup (but
not on the "Help-->About FreeHand" window).

    Thanks for any assistance.

My guess would be that the group is having some type of Raster Effect
applied to it, either by you directly or by default. Turn off any
Raster Effects applied to the group and it should be normal.

I did notice that the blur happens when I apply a drop shadow to the grouped
items. I tried applying the drop shadow to just the object first, then
grouping the object and the text. The text then stayed sharp and clear, so
this explanation might be what I'm looking for. Thanks.

Under the File menu, you'll find 'Doent Settings'> 'Raster Effect Settings' to increase the resolution of the raster effect. This reduces that blurring effect both on screen and during export and output, but be prepared for slower responses from the application.

Raster Effects rasterize, resulting in blurring. If you want the underlying
object's edges to remain sharp, then apply the drop shadow to a third object
    below text and object.
