text breaking to new line

I've created a presentation using Director 8.51 which has a number of text menus. On a small percentage of the computers that the projector file has been tested on the text breaks on to a new line midway through. On most computers it appears fine and the font has been placed into the cast so does anyone have any ideas why it should be happening, in varying degrees of seriousness, on a minority of machines??

I have taken the action of making the text frames as wide as possible and turning word wrap off, but have not had the opportunity test it again on one of the 'problem' PCs.

Any ideas??

Embedded fonts can fail to activate if the system directory is locked
down by security measures.

An alternative for non-editable text is to set the prerender and save a
bitmap checkboxes.
