Text - Convert to paths glitch - Macromedia Freehand

Usually when I send a poster to be printed to an outside source, I will convert all fonts to paths. Normal procedure. Yet, when I did this to one font I have, SKIA (Truetype GX), it says "could not complete command because character contains no outlines". Tried several attempts to no avail. Then by accident, I set exactly the same text and font in another FH9 doent, and it does convert to paths! When I cut and paste that text into the other doent, I get that error message again. It converts in one doent. Not the other! What's going ...

Default Text - Convert to paths glitch

Usually when I send a poster to be printed to an outside source, I will convert
all fonts to paths. Normal procedure.

Yet, when I did this to one font I have, SKIA (Truetype GX), it says "could
not complete command because character contains no outlines". Tried several
    attempts to no avail.

Then by accident, I set exactly the same text and font in another FH9
doent, and it does convert to paths!
When I cut and paste that text into the other doent, I get that error
    message again.

It converts in one doent. Not the other!
    What's going on here?

    OS10.2.8. Dual G4/1.25GHz.

You may have an invisible character of a corrupted font somewhere in the
text block. If the whole text block is in Skia font, insert text cursor,
Cmd-A to select all lettering in block, and make sure you see the Skia font
    name in the text inspector.

Another trick for clearing a corrupt end-of-text block invisible code.
Insert your text cursor at the end of the text block. Press return, then
    delete.

    Thanks Judy.
This is too weird. Today I was able to convert ALL SKIA text to paths that I
    could not yesterday!
I'm happy, but have no idea what or why.

Which begs a related question. If there is a corrupted font somewhere that
might be the source of problems, how do you find it? I have about 1500 fonts.
And use Font Reserve 3x. And sometimes I have had font problems, never knowing
    why.

Does Font Reserve have a 'verify font' routine? I'm using FontAgent Pro,
which does. There's also Font Doctor.
