Text field automatic expansion?
Hello,
I have created a form in which there are a few free text fields. Due to the initial size of the original word document that this was based on I did not change the physical size of the form. What I would like to have happen is if and when the person filling out the form needs additional writing space they just keep on typing and have adobe create an additional line below the field.
Is this possible.
In my adventure to get this to work I was only successful in creating a 'slider bar so that they can keep on typing away but you have to scroll to see what they wrote. When printing this form you then only see the original lines of text, not the entire thing.

I don't think that it is; if I am wrong someone will hopefully correct me.

Re: Text field automatic expansion?
No Fr, you are, sadly, correct.
There is no real solution to this in the current Acrobat way of doing things.
Acrobat is not a Word Processor, it's more like a DTP app in the way it handles fields, in that they are fixed size, and placed individually on the workspace.
There is a POSSIBLE solution if you can be sure that all your users are using Acrobat 6.0, in that there is a javascript function called fieldFull. It should be possible to use this to detect a full field and either switch to another field, or possibly reduce the font size, allowing more text to be entered.
This limitation prevents quite a few of our Word forms from being converted to pdf
