Text Frame Options..why?
Ok, dumb question, but what is the purpose of the Text Frame Options?
I ask because whenever I import a Quark Express file (Or an older version of an InDesign file) I get a little border around text boxes, and I usually change them in the Text Frame Options. Usually there is no problem, but I ask you all here..Is there any reason I should be keeping this option? Why should I use it?
Thanks, it might be a dumb question, but it's one of those questions where, since I never used it, I never bothered with it...
Thanks

I'm not even sure what you're asking. Are you talking about the frame
edges that can be toggled on and off through the show/hide frame edges
command?

Re: Text Frame Options..why?
I believe that for a long time (and possibly still), XPress had a 1-point all around inset on text frames. Is that what you're asking about? There is no good reason for keeping it.
If you're using CS2, it's quicker to use an object style to deal with that than visiting the dialog.

Re: Text Frame Options..why?
On a freshly installed copy of QuarkXPress 4, all text frames have a 1-point inset. THat sucks. What's worse is that the default word spacing for all text is 110%, meaning that the font designer's preferred word spacing is never used unless the user changes the default. Very, very few do.
